watching calories

Most people know the importance of counting calories, but there are other eating factors to note.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention explains:

  • Low-fat and fat-free foods are not necessarily low in calories, since they may contain sugar
  • Don't focus just on carbohydrates. Doing so may lead to you consume too many calories and miss out on important dietary nutrients.
  • Even if you're exercising enough, it's still important to watch your calorie intake.Make sure you aren't consuming more calories than you burn.
  • Genetics and environment also may play a role in your weight
